Overview
Designated safeguarding leads and those with supervisory responsibility need more than awareness: they must be equipped to receive disclosures, make referrals, share information lawfully and lead a coordinated multi-agency response. This course is grounded in the key legislation and statutory guidance including the Children Act 1989 and 2004, the Care Act 2014 and Working Together to Safeguard Children. It builds the knowledge and confidence needed to act decisively and lawfully when concerns arise.

Designated Safeguarding Leads and their deputies, managers, supervisors and team leaders with safeguarding responsibility, trustees, governors and senior leaders in education, health, social care, sport and the charity sector, and anyone progressing from Level 1 or Level 2 safeguarding training.
Legal & compliance context
This course is underpinned by the Children Act 1989, the Children Act 2004 and the Care Act 2014, as well as the statutory guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children. Designated safeguarding leads and senior staff are required under these frameworks to be trained to the appropriate level to fulfil their statutory duties.
